Wedding Photographer for 2 Hours
Things to consider when booking a photographer for just 2 hours;
2 hours is actually surprisingly short, whilst it is certainly possible to cover a wedding ceremony, a few group shots and the essential couple shots it’s worth writing a timeline for your day to ensure that 2 hours will actually be enough time. Depending on how many group shots you require and also how many people per shot. I usually advise 2 - 3 minutes per shot, this is based on everyone being in the immediate vicinity ready to go. You need to consider transport if the ceremony and reception are in two locations. A major point couples often forget when they write a wedding timeline is the congratulating and the talking! Remember everyone is there to see you and they will want to spend as much time as they can with you. This adds a huge amount of time depending on a few factors but if any drink has been consumed it usually exaggerates this! Generally speaking for this reason I advise group shots happen before the reception or welcome drinks. Once the group shots are complete it’s best to let your guests disappear off for a drink - they’re a thirsty bunch and being involved in group shots is thirsty work. So, let them off and then you don’t have to worry about them. This is your moment to enjoy with your partner and we will go and take some natural couple shots. I really stress this is your time together, not a time for posing additional photos. I will be with you but leave you to yourselves capturing the natural you.
Are you getting married and looking for a photographer for 2 hours or more to cover your covid safe wedding day?
I offer packages which allow those of you that have decided to hold a small wedding for 2 hours or more. I offer discounted rates from that of my normal full day coverage and I am available for a minimum of two hours. You can find them here.
It’s really tricky for couples getting married at the moment because the whole wedding process has been scaled down and stripped right back. Many of you are still tying the knot but holding a small ceremony followed by a family meal or similar. I am available to cover these weddings.
I cater for smaller intimate weddings which comply with government guidance on holding weddings in the UK. The safety of my couples, their family and friends takes priority.
The steps I am now taking at weddings to give confidence to couples who wish to book and peace of mind for their families;
1. Regularly wash hands regularly or use hand sanitiser where this is not possible (as we all do every day!)
2. Clean and sanitise camera equipment between photoshoots
3. I wear a mask in all internal environments, I may remove this if working in open space outdoors but if social distancing is ever in question then I will wear my mask
4. I only work alone
5. No money or contracts to be exchanged on the day, zero contact will be made. These should all be completed prior to the wedding day via electronic means.
6. If I am required to isolate due to track and trace I am part of a wide network of photographers ready to step in and photograph your wedding on my behalf.
7. I have recovered myself from Covid-19 in April 2020, luckily my symptoms were fairly mild and I am back to full health. Whilst there are no guarantees, general thought seems that I would pose a lower risk of contracting the virus or passing it on.
8. I only use my own vehicle or walk to venues, never public transport.
